The electricity grid is in perfect balance when energy production and consumption are equal. Maintaining this situation is a complex and multi-faceted task.

Power consumption changes smoothly throughout the day, forming higher peaks on weekday mornings and evenings.

Production:

Power production varies according to which powerplants provide energy. The more energy that comes from solar and wind farms, the faster and greater the fluctuations in production.

The solution

If there is a sudden drop in production side of the power grid, the system needs to be rebalanced immediately. One way to do this is to activate additional production capacities. Another option is to reduce power consumption.
